At the western end of Route 66 is Santa Monica Pier, bustling with tourists as well as locals who are looking for some a bit more lively. In addition to some drinks and bites, you’ll find dancers and musicians performing impromptu shows, stands with some iconic surfer wares, and vendors on foot. From the end of the pier, you’ll get some premier views of the beach, especially as the sun is setting.
